Welcome to the Graduating Class of 2014!
Dear Parents and Families,
What a great start to our year! I have loved meeting your children and am slowly getting to know them and their warm personalities. I feel very privileged to be able to share their graduating year of primary school with them.
I understand that you may be bombarded with notes during the first couple of weeks of school, so I hope this doesn’t add too much to the pile! There are a couple of things that you may be interested in, which have been outlined below.
Kind regards,
Mrs Carrie Bin Salleh
What a great start to our year! I have loved meeting your children and am slowly getting to know them and their warm personalities. I feel very privileged to be able to share their graduating year of primary school with them.
I understand that you may be bombarded with notes during the first couple of weeks of school, so I hope this doesn’t add too much to the pile! There are a couple of things that you may be interested in, which have been outlined below.
- I use email everyday to contact parents and various other people, so please feel free to send me an email if there is anything you’d like to chat about. My address is: [email protected] Please send me an email with your email address included, or alternatively, write it in your child’s diary.
- We have a class website! The address is mrsbinsalleh.weebly.com …I’d love if you all pressed the ‘follow’ button on the site; this means you’ll be kept up to date with things that are going on in Year Six and Seven, including the days we have specialist classes. Students will also be part of this website – they will post updates on this we have been covering in class.
- I sign the students’ diaries every week, on a Friday. I would appreciate if you signed these as well, as this maintains contact and ensures students know we are both kept in the loop! Home reading (at least 20 minutes every day) and times tables practice is part of signing this diary. More information will be provided on this once we begin the routines of the class and we have our Year Six and Seven meeting.
- Our Year Six and Seven Meeting will be held on Tuesday 11th February (week two of school) at 5pm sharp, in the Senior Block. We look forward to seeing you there!
- On Friday, 28th February, we are having a Pupil Free Day. This is the Friday before the Monday public holiday.
- I will let you know about homework (apart from home reading and times tables practice) as we discuss it as a Year Six and Seven group – once we have decided homework plans I will inform you of these.
- If you haven’t already covered your child’s exercise books and diary, please do so as soon as possible, as we use these everyday. If they are kept neat, students take more pride in their work inside them!
- We have swimming lessons in week three of this term – keep posted for the paperwork going home shortly.
- We have our class assembly during week five of this term – Wednesday 5th March.
Kind regards,
Mrs Carrie Bin Salleh
